The trouble with being honest about your covid status

This is the Singapore government's protocol on COVID. As you can see, if you caught the virus or found to be a close contact, a hell lot of trouble is waiting for you. Recently, there are few covid cases in my hall, which led to tightened restrictions like no dine-in. All these troubles can be avoided if we choose not to be transparent.

Self-test or ART test is the government's main way of identifying covid cases. They are required on a periodic basis by many companies or schools and also required to attend events.

Close contacts are identified either by self declaration or Trace Together gadgets which uses Bluetooth to capture information about another person if you stayed close to him for too long. The government can also use Trace Together to search for all the people who attended an event when a case is confirmed in that event.

All these leaves me with one question, why do people need to be honest with their Covid status when there might be a hell lot of trouble waiting for them such as isolation. They can still enjoy the freedom the are entitled to if they conceal their statuses. When a case is found in a particular area, those loving in that area should refrain from doing ART test to avoid imprisonment in the place of isolation. I personally will choose not to bring my Trace Together gadgets out as much as possible to minimize the risk of me being identified as a close contact and it's a good practice for everyone

What's the use of being so paranoid about getting COVID when only 1 out of 3000 people die from it. Of course the zero COVID animals will be like" what if it's your parents?". This is totally nonsense as the chance is so low. Even a large family has 20 people, not 2000 to 3000. Highly unlikely that your family member will die from the virus given that they caught it. I believe we should just let the virus spread and leave a trail of herd immunity behind because most of the people will survive.
